Helaman Presents to CQN

In February of this year, CamachoLab members had the opportunity to go to the Center for Quantum Networks 2023 Winter Retreat. This event was held at Biosphere 2, a research facility containing the world's largest closed ecological system.

Helaman Flores, one of our lab members, was the only undergraduate student to present at the event. He outlined BYU's work, done in collaboration with Dirk Englund at MIT, in designing efficient coupling to Nitrogen Vacancy centers in diamond. This included efforts to couple directly to a waveguide as well as to cause the defect center to emit into free space in a way that can be efficiently collected.
